ASTM F1869-98 (Standard test method for measuring moisture vapor emission of concrete sub floor using anhydrous calcium chloride)
SEAL-ONCE HAD A VAPOR EMISSION RATE (LB/1000PI2/24HRS) OF 3.9 AVERAGE WHILE UNTREATED REFERENCE CONCRETE BLOCKS AVERAGE 7.4. THIS MEANS THAT MOISTURE TRAPPED WITHIN CONCRETE OR OTHER SUBSTRATE WILL STILL ESCAPE AT A RATE 47% OF THAT OF RAW CONCRETE WHICH IS EXCELLENT. |

UNTREATED CONCRETE MEGA-PAVE AND PERMACON PRODUCTS HAD A MOISTURE ABSORPTION RATE, ON AVERAGE BASED ON DENSITY, 2.9%. TREATED PRODUCTS WERE TESTED WITH SEAL-ONCE, ABSORPTION RATE OF 1.24%. THEREFORE, UNTREATED PRODUCTS ABSORBED 233% MORE MOISTURE THAN WHEN TREATED WITH SEAL-ONCE. |

ASTM C672/C672M-98 (Standard test methods for scaling resistance of concrete surfaces exposed to de-icing chemicals)
CONCRETE IS COMPOSED OF SAND AND AGGREGATE WHICH ARE VERY HYDROPHILIC (WATER LOVING) HENCE ARE CAPABLE OF ABSORBING LARGE AMOUNTS OF WATER. THIS IS WHY THE FREEZE THAW TEST (ASTM C672) CAN BE SO DIFFICULT AS THE MOISTURE INGRESS INTO THE CONCRETE AND FREEZES IT INDUCES SCALING BECAUSE FREEZING WATER IS VERY STRONG. SEAL-ONCE HAD ZERO WEIGHT LOSS OR SCALING EVEN AFTER 50 FREEZE THAT CYCLES. THIS SHOWS THAT SEAL-ONCE CAN PROVIDE AN EXCELLENT LEVEL OF PROTECTION FOR CEMENTITOUS SUBSTRATES FOR MANY YEARS. |
